Socialized Medicine & Walter Reed Army Hospital

Am I the only person who noticed the connection between the recent scandal concerning treatment of returning wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Army Hospital and the fact that it was a government run medical institution - i.e. socialized medicine? Why can't the proponents of socialized medicine realize that this is what's in store for the American public if they follow the primrose path of utopian medical care for everyone? If this is the best government can do, then PLEASE, PLEASE, COUNT ME OUT OF THIS IGNORANT SCHEME!!!
